The Moscow Central Circle (MCC) is one of the most important projects for the city, which has become a driver of the territorialdevelopment. The MCC launch has transformed the surrounding areas: more residential complexes have appeared on the site ofthe old industrial zones, business centers have opened. That is why the flow of the circle is growing so rapidly – todaypassengers on the MCC make more than 550 thousand trips per day.
It will be a modern train with a high level of services for passengers, adapted to urban trips. Three doors will allow passengers to get on and off the train faster, and travel will become more convenient. Passenger flows will separate the two floors: those who make a longer trip will travel comfortably on the second floor, those who need to travel just a couple of stops will find it more convenient for them to travel on the first floor. Already in the middle of next year, it will be possible to talk about the possibility of these trains appearing on the MCC.
«According to the instructions of the Moscow Mayor SergeySobyanin, we continue to develop urban rail transport. With colleagues from the Russian Railways, we developed a technical task for a new double-decker train, which we plan to launch on the MCC. This is a technically difficult solution, since there has never been such a project in Russia: we already use double-decker trains to airports and the MCD-1, but they are not produced in our country, and this is one of the main requirements. In our opinion, this should be a double-decker, three-door train — such a solution will reduce the passengers time on boarding and disembarking and increase the convenience of travel», – noted Maksim Liksutov, the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport.
